A folia de carnaval ainda não terminou no Rio de Janeiro. Desde cedo, os 150 percussionistas do Monobloco arrastam milhares de pessoas pela orla de Copacabana, na zona sul da capital.

A fantastic end the Rio de Janeiro’s carnaval season. Estimated crowd of 150,000. Twice the capacity of the Sambadrome and up on last years record of 80,000. Later reports suggested a figure as high as 250,000!.

Saw Monobloco on Friday night 11 Jan 2008 in Sydney, Australia. Fantastic! We danced all night. Seemed like I was one of the few people in the audience who didn’t undertand Portugese!
